What do I Use to Record the Audio in my Bass Vids?

Hi mates,
and welcome to my first ever blog in this site.

Today I want to talk about my USB audio interface, the one that I use to plug my bass guitar in my pc and record it.

There are tons of articles in where you can find what is an USB audio interface, how it works and what is the one that you should buy
so, i'll make it easy.

 

 

- If you plug your bass guitar or another electric instrument in your pc with a simple jack adapter you'll obtain a very bad signal, in therms of volume and quality...
 

You would obtain a better result just plugging your instrument in an amplifier and recording it with your smartphone.

 

- If you use a small USB adapter that just converts the audio signal to a midi signal or makes your bass work as an usb microphone you'll obtain a mid-low quality signal, which would be good to play and practice alone in your room...
 

But you would have to buy something expensive if you wish to use it to record and share a good quality sound to be used in a youtube video or similar

 

 

- Using a USB external audio interface you will have the right base to start your home recording studio, using it you'll be able to plug your bass guitar, your amplifier, pedal effects and anything you want as you would do with a studio mixer and with the best value of money, you'll obtain a pretty good audio signal, perfectly processable with a DAW software and able to be used in an home mix or a studio pre-record...
and you'll be able to record the audio of your youtube videos with the best quality for an home made product.

There are lots of different models from focusrite (different in terms of price and versatility... there is also a pretty good starting kit with a good quality microphone and a pair of studio headphones)

 

 

and obviusly, lots of different constructor that gives you pretty similar harware, I choosed this just because i though that it was the best for me, and I'm pretty sure that you'll find it great.
